Let me confess something: I have a weird hobby.
Some people collect vinyls, some people binge Netflix _ I collect broken designs.
Yes, broken.
The ugly buttons, the clunky forms, the “404 page not found but with Comic Sans” masterpieces of the internet.
Why? Because they’re delicious.
Here’s the thing: imperfect designs are like puzzles. They give me something to poke at, fix, rethink, and make friendly. And honestly? That’s way more fun than staring at something already perfect. Perfect is boring. Perfect is “good for you, move on.” Imperfect says: hey Flávio, come play.
Take that dropdown menu that opens behind another menu. Nightmare? Sure. But also chef’s kiss. That’s where the magic is. That’s where you roll up your sleeves and ask: how do we make this less evil and more delightful?
I like to think of it this way:
- A perfect design is a finished meal.
- A broken design is a kitchen full of chaos, knives in the wrong place, flour on the cat.
Guess where the fun is? Exactly.
So yeah, I love broken things. Because they remind me why I do this work: not to make perfect pixels, but to take messy human stuff and give it clarity, kindness, and maybe even a smile.
Long live the imperfect.
Long live the broken dropdowns.
Long live the chance to fix them.
